Questions couples ask
The things couples want to know before they enquire.
Getting married in France
Can we get legally married at the château?
In France, a legal marriage takes place at the town hall, and one partner usually needs to have lived locally for at least 40 days. Most couples from abroad marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony at the château, which can be as personal as you like.
When is the best time of year for a château wedding near Paris?
May, June and September are the most popular: long evenings and mild weather. The château also hosts weddings in autumn and winter, when dinner moves in front of the fires.
The château
How far is the château from Paris?
The château is about an hour from central Paris by car, or about 40 minutes by train from Gare de Lyon plus a short transfer.
How many guests can we invite?
Up to 180 guests for a seated dinner in the grand salon and up to 250 for drinks and dancing.
Is the château exclusive to us?
Yes. There is one wedding at a time, and the château and park are yours for your stay.
Is there a music curfew?
Music runs until 3am in the orangery, then the late bar stays open in the vaulted cellars.
Staying and planning
How many guests can stay?
22 bedrooms sleep 48 guests across the château, the stables and the forest lodge. Hotels nearby and in Paris take everyone else.
Do we have to use your suppliers?
You choose your caterer from our list of trusted caterers. Flowers, photography, music and planning are up to you.
Can we visit before we book?
Yes. Couples can visit in person, an easy day trip from Paris, or book a video call tour if they are planning from abroad.
